Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 19, 2026
This policy covers everything Edge Orbital runs: the Edge Orbital website, Edge Orbital’s research paper and survey, the Krewe of Play website and the Tripwire Recon and Tchoup apps. It explains what each one collects, why, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it and the choices you have.
Who we are
Edge Orbital Inc, a Delaware corporation based in New Orleans, runs edgeorbital.io, the research paper and survey, and xkrewe.com. Tripwire Recon and Tchoup are listed on the App Store under Christopher Wolff, Edge Orbital’s founder. In this policy, “Edge Orbital,” “we,” “us” and “our” mean Edge Orbital Inc and Christopher Wolff.

The short version
- Each service collects what it needs to work, and this policy lists it service by service.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- On our websites, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel run only if you accept them in the cookie notice.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information by emailing [email protected].
The Edge Orbital website (edgeorbital.io)
Product updates
When you sign up for product updates, we collect your email address so we can email you about the products Edge Orbital is developing. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Our email tools record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can see what is useful.
Messages and investor deck requests
When you send a message or request the investor deck, we collect your name, email address, any company name you give and your message. We use them to reply to you.
Cookies, analytics and ads
The website uses Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. They use cookies to count visits and email sign-ups. Meta uses this information to measure and show ads, including on Facebook and Instagram. Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel run only if you accept them in the cookie notice that appears on your first visit. The website saves your choice in a cookie on your device. You can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
To opt out of ads, change your ad settings in Facebook or Instagram (Accounts Center, then Ad preferences) or use optout.aboutads.info. To opt out of Google Analytics on every website, install Google’s opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser.
Research paper and survey
The research paper
To read our research paper, you enter your name and email address, and you can add a company name. If the link you followed included campaign tags, the form saves those too, which shows how you found the paper. We use this to understand who reads the paper. We do not add you to a mailing list or contact you about sales because you read the paper.
The research survey
The survey asks about getting home and about the tools you would find useful. It also asks for your first name and email address, and you can add a phone number. Your answers and contact details are emailed to Christopher Wolff and kept in the website’s records. We use your answers for research, and we contact you only if you said you would like to talk more or join a design session. Taking the survey does not sign you up for product updates.
What the forms record with each entry
With each paper or survey entry, the website also records the date, the page address, your IP address, your browser, your device type and your country.
How long we keep research entries
We keep research entries so we can study them over time, and we do not delete them on a schedule. To ask us to delete your entry, email [email protected].
Krewe of Play (xkrewe.com)
When you sign up for the Thursday list, we collect your email address and send you one email a week with the games happening in and around New Orleans that weekend, plus news about Krewe of Play game days. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Our email tools record whether an email was opened and which links were clicked.
When you write to us, we collect your name, email address and message so we can reply.
xkrewe.com uses Google Analytics, which uses cookies to count visits and email sign-ups. It runs only if you accept it in the cookie notice that appears on your first visit, and you can change your choice with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. The forms use a bot check from Cloudflare that looks at browser signals to tell people from bots.
The Krewe of Play website is for adults, and Krewe of Play games are for players 18 and over.
Tripwire Recon
Tripwire Recon is a capture-the-flag game for iPhone that you play by walking real streets. This section describes version 2.6.0, the version on the App Store.
Your account
We collect your email address, your username and any display name, bio and avatar settings you choose. If you sign in with email, we store your password as a hash. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we store the account ID that service gives us. Face ID is handled by your iPhone, and the app does not receive your face data. Leaderboards also use Game Center.
Location and movement
- While you play, the app collects your precise location, the places where you stop and how long you stay, and your last known location for your profile.
- If you allow “Always” location access, the app also notes major location changes and places you stop when the app is closed. You can change this at any time in your iPhone’s Settings.
- Steps and floors. The app collects your steps, distance, floors climbed and pace from your iPhone’s motion sensors.
Optional sensors
Each of these is off until you turn it on, during setup or later in Profile, then Privacy & Data.
- Sound clips. The app records short clips of background sound, 5 seconds each. Your iPhone deletes any clip it recognizes as speech before it leaves the phone. The other clips are uploaded and stored.
- Camera frames. During augmented reality play and scans, the app captures still frames. Your iPhone blurs faces and license plates it detects before a frame is uploaded, and it drops the frame if blurring fails.
- Depth scans. On iPhones with LiDAR, the app captures depth scans of your surroundings.
- Bluetooth. The app counts nearby Bluetooth devices. Device addresses are scrambled on your iPhone before they are sent.
- Ultra-wideband. During in-person play, the app measures the distance to nearby players.
- Detailed motion. During active play, the app collects accelerometer, gyroscope, compass and air pressure readings.
Camera frames and depth scans can be turned into 3D models of places. Other signed-in players can see the 3D models for a location.
Gameplay, chat and purchases
We store your faction, clan, flags captured, points, experience, achievements, streaks, bounties and event history. Other players can see your username, faction and rank. We store clan chat messages. If someone reports a message, we keep a copy of it for review. If you buy coin packs, Apple handles the payment, and we keep a record of the purchase.
Device and app use
We collect your device information, your push notification token if you turn on notifications, diagnostics, and records of how you use the app, such as which screens you open and when a session starts and ends. When you turn a sensor on or off, we save that choice with your IP address and device details.
What Tripwire Recon does not collect
Tripwire Recon does not collect your contacts, browsing history or advertising data, and it does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. It does not include outside analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools.
Why we use it
We use this information to run the game, including the map, flag captures, clans, chat, leaderboards and alerts; to build a live map and 3D views of places; to prevent cheating; and to see which parts of the app people use.
Building history
The app can show a short history of a building. To write it, our server sends the building’s name, address and map coordinates to Anthropic and OpenAI, and searches public sources such as Wikipedia, The Historic New Orleans Collection and the Louisiana Digital Library. We do not send information about you to these services for this feature.
How long we keep it
- Precise location, steps and floors: 90 days.
- Places where you stopped: 365 days.
- Detailed motion, compass and air pressure readings: 30 days.
- Sound clips, camera frames, depth scans and Bluetooth counts: until you delete your account. We do not delete them on a schedule.
- Your account, gameplay, chat messages and purchase records: until you delete your account.
Turning a sensor off stops future collection. It does not delete what the sensor already collected. To delete that, delete your account or email [email protected].
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Profile, then Danger Zone, then Delete Account. This deletes your account and its data, including sensor data and files, consent records, chat messages, purchase records and app-use records. Flags you captured or created stay in the game without your name. If someone reported one of your messages, the report keeps a copy of that message but not your account.
If you played an earlier version of the app, some older location and IP address records may not be removed automatically. Email [email protected] and we will delete them. To get a copy of your data, email the same address.
Age
Tripwire Recon is rated 13+ on the App Store and is not directed to children under 13.
Tchoup
Tchoup is a live street-flooding map for New Orleans, on the web at tchoup.app and as an iPhone app.
- Email address. Tchoup uses it to sign you in with an emailed link and, if you opt in, to send flood alerts near your saved home. Signing in does not add you to a mailing list.
- Sign in with Apple. If you sign in with Apple, we store the email address Apple shares, which can be Apple’s private relay address, and your Apple account’s ID. Tchoup does not access anything else from your Apple account.
- “Tell me when this city is live.” If you ask us to tell you when your city goes live, we keep your email address for that and nothing else.
- Flood reports. A report includes its location, street name, water depth and an optional note of up to 140 characters. Reports appear on the public map without your name or email address. With each report we also keep your account ID if you are signed in, a scrambled version of your device ID and a scrambled version of your IP address.
- Votes. When you vote on a report or mark a spot as still flooding or fixed, we store the vote with your device or account.
- Saved home location (optional). Tchoup stores it to send you alerts about flooding near it, along with a record of the alerts it sent. It is not shown to other people.
- A device identifier. Tchoup creates a random ID on your device to limit abuse, such as rate limits and one vote per device. The server stores only a scrambled version of it.
- Push token (iPhone, optional). Tchoup stores it if you turn on notifications.
- IP addresses. Tchoup keeps your IP address for no more than a few hours to limit abuse. It stores IP addresses with reports only in scrambled form.
- Website use. If you accept it in the cookie notice, the tchoup.app map page loads Google Analytics, which records page views and taps, such as opening the avoid list or the pump count. You can change your choice with the Cookie settings link on the page. The iPhone app does not include analytics or tracking tools.
- Maps and radar. When the map loads, your browser or iPhone gets map and radar images from OpenStreetMap and the Iowa Environmental Mesonet, and the iPhone app also uses Apple Maps. These services see your IP address when they send the images.
- Home Safe (tchoup.app/safe). Home Safe uses your location in your browser and keeps the pins you add on your own device.
- Campus survey (tchoup.app/campus). The survey asks about your campus, age range, schedule, how you get home and what would help. If you say yes or maybe to a follow-up session, it also asks for your name and email address. We use it for research.
How long we keep it
Flood reports leave the map after a while, but we keep them to show which streets flood again and again. Your account, saved home and survey answers stay until you ask us to delete them or delete your account.
Deleting your account
In the iPhone app, go to Settings, then Delete account. This removes your email address, Apple sign-in, saved home, alert settings, push tokens and any “city is live” request right away. Reports you posted stay in our records without your account, but they keep the scrambled device and IP values. On the web, email [email protected], and we will delete your account within 30 days.
Tchoup shows no ads.
Who helps us handle your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with services that work on our behalf, or when the law requires it. We choose providers that commit to protecting personal information at least as well as this policy describes, and we let them use it only to provide their service to us.
- Cloudflare, which delivers and protects our websites and runs the bot check on xkrewe.com
- RackNerd, which hosts edgeorbital.io and xkrewe.com
- Mailgun, which sends our emails, including app sign-in and alert emails
- Google, for website analytics and, if you choose it, Sign in with Google
- Meta, for ad measurement on edgeorbital.io
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple, Game Center, app notifications, in-app purchases and Apple Maps
- Anthropic and OpenAI, which receive building information, not information about you, for Tripwire Recon’s building histories
- OpenStreetMap and the Iowa Environmental Mesonet, which send Tchoup’s map and radar images
Our apps’ data is stored on servers that Edge Orbital runs.
How long we keep information
- Product updates and the Thursday list: until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep your email address on a do-not-email list so we do not email you again.
- Messages and deck requests: in our email for as long as we need them to keep the conversation going.
- Research entries: as described under Research paper and survey.
- App data: as described in the Tripwire Recon and Tchoup sections.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from any of our emails with the link in each email. On edgeorbital.io, xkrewe.com and tchoup.app, you can change your cookie choice with the Cookie settings link on the page. In our apps, you can turn off location access or notifications in your iPhone’s Settings, and you can delete your account as described in each app’s section.
To ask what information we have about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it, email [email protected] and tell us which service you used.
Keeping your information safe
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. No website, app or email system is completely secure.
Children
edgeorbital.io and Tchoup are not directed to children under 13. Tripwire Recon is rated 13+ on the App Store. Krewe of Play is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. When we do, we change the date at the top of this page.
